Place Judge
No Training Necessary
Place judges mark the finish places for each heat in a swim meet. Using the heat sheet provided, make a note beside each heat the order of finishes. Simply mark 5-3-8-2-7, etc. beside the heat if that is the order of finish (don't try to mark the place next to each lane, just write down the lane numbers in the order of finish).
Both teams are supposed to provide a place judge, and both results should match if used by the scorekeeper. It is not always an easy job, especially with the faster races. Just do your best.
Place judges can also help by marking which lanes are empty and if there are any lane changes observed during the meet. This will help the Referee and Scorekeeper if there are any questions.
